Bine ati venit pe aceasta pagina virtuala dedicata construirii Bisericii Ortodoxe Romane “Moldovita la Washington D.C.” Aceasta biserica se va construi in zona capitalei Statelor Unite ale Americii si este proiectata in stilul Bisericii Manastirii Moldovita din frumoasa noastra Romanie, de unde si denumirea generica de mai sus. Prin arhitectura sa, ea va insuma toate valentele spiritualitatii ortodoxe romanesti, va fi un simbol al tuturor romanilor in inima Americii si ne va chema pe toti sa o purtam in suflet ca pe o imagine si actualizare a bisericii ceresti, sa ii pasim pragul ori de cate ori ne va invrednici Tatal Ceresc si sa inaltam rugaciuni de lauda, cerere si multumire.
O biserică nu se zideşte în fiecare an, ci o dată la două, trei sute de ani si ca urmare, zidirea unei biserici este o şansă şi o chemare tainică a lui Dumnezeu pentru cei ce-i sunt contemporani, fiind prilej de a deveni ctitori şi ziditori ai Casei lui Dumnezeu. „Biserica este cerul pământesc, întru care locuieşte şi umblă Dumnezeul cel ceresc, închipuind răstignirea, înmormântarea şi învierea lui Hristos, mai preaslăvită decât Cortul mărturiei lui Moise, preînchipuită de Patriarhi, aşezată pe temelii de Apostoli.” (Sfantul Gherman, arhiepiscopul Constantinopolului). Pentru comunitatea noastra, parintele duhovnic de la care a pornit acest proiect maret si binecuvantat a fost Parinte Marturisitor, de vesnica pomenire, Gheorghe Calciu Dumitreasa ce a slujit comunitatea locala pentru mai bine de 20 de ani si prin care a fost alesa proprietatea actuala a bisericii noastre. Oare ce este mai plăcut Domnului decât să îşi vadă credincioşii uniţi în lucrare împreună făcută cu dragoste și dăruire? Iar dacă scopul este de a construi o nouă Biserică, îngerii Domnului vor coborî din ceruri să ajute, iar sfinții se vor ruga neîncetat spre slava și propovăduirea Cuvântului de Viață Dătător. Zidirea unei biserici într-o comunitate este lucrarea cea mai folositoare şi mai sfântă.

Permisul de constructie

Welcome to this virtual site dedicated to the construction of the Romanian Orthodox Church “Moldovita at Washington D.C.” This church will be built near the capital of the United States of America, and is designed in the style of the church of the Moldovita Monastery in our beautiful ancestral Romania. Through its architectural traits it will encompass all the spiritual valencies of the Romanian orthodox spirituality, and will represent a symbol of all Romanians in the heart of America. It will call all of us to bear it in our souls as an image and representation of the celestial church, to cross its threshold any time when the Celestial Father will endow us with worthiness, and to raise prayers of praise, request and thanks.
A church is not being built every year, but only every two-three hundreds of years and, therefore, building of a church represents a chance and a mysterious call from God to those who live in contemporary times, having the opportunity to become founders and builders of The House of God. “The church is the earthly heaven, in which The Heavenly Father dwells and walks, signifying Christ’s crucifixion, burial and resurrection; it is more glorified than Moses’ Tent of Testimony, pre-imagined by the Pathriarchs and laid on its foundations by the Apostles.” (Saint Gherman, Archbishop of Constantinople). For our community, the spiritual father who initiated this great and blessed project was the Confessing Father, of eternal remembrance, Gheorghe Calciu-Dumitreasa, who served the community for more than 20 years, and to whom we credit the selection and acquisition of our current church property. What is more pleasing to God than seeing His faithful united in a common endeavor accomplished with love and sacrifice? And, if the goal is to build a new Church, the Lord’s Angels will descend from heaven to grant assistance, while the saints will pray continuously in praise and preaching of the Life-giving Word. Building of a church within a community is the most useful and sacred work. Thank you for your visit; let us pray that God will bless you in your deeds, thoughts and words!
